For the past few months, there's been talk going around that Stranger Things David Harbour may actually be coming into the Marvel Cinematic Universe to play Ben Grimm, one of the members of the Fantastic Four otherwise known as The Thing.
After being cast by Marvel in the upcoming Black Widow standalone movie, the Hellboy star mentioned in an interview that he was doing a "thing," a statement that sparked rumors that he might actually be playing Ben Grimm.
Though the actor has yet to confirm the rumors, Harbour doesn't shoot down fans speculation. The actor just recently took part in Wired's little game"Answer the Web's Most Searched Questions" promo with his Strangers Thing co-star Winona Ryder.
When asked the question " is David Harbour playing the thing" by Rider, Harbour simply shakes his head and laughs.
"The Thing is like a character in comic books. So there were all these speculations that was what I was playing. I'm not allowed to say anything about this particular film I'm doing, but... I play lots of things. I just used the word 'thing' in my vocabulary a lot," the actor says, playing coy.
While it might seem a bit unlikely for The Thing to appear in Black Widow knowing that the standalone movie is to serve as a prequel, Harbour could very well appear as Ben Grimms before the accident that turns him into the Thing.
That, or Harbour could be playing an entirely different character. Let's wait and see.
Stranger Things season 3 is currently streaming on Netflix.
