David Corenswet’s Superman future has reportedly been revealed after a new report emerged ahead of the looming Paramount-Warner Bros. merger.

Considered the biggest Hollywood event of the year, the merger has raised concerns about the franchises the two studios hold, including James Gunn’s DC Universe.

Paramount Skydance has acquired Warner Bros. Discovery for $110 billion, and the acquisition is set to close on October 6 after receiving final federal court approval.

As changes are expected to happen with the new partnership, will David Corenswet be replaced or remain the DCU’s Superman?

According to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider newsletter, Paramount reportedly wants to keep the 33-year-old actor as the Man of Steel and even ensure that he will play the role for the rest of the decade “at least.”

If true, fans will continue to see Corenswet as Kal-El in the DCU despite possible changes that may happen. So far, he’s set to appear in the Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow.

Outside the DCU, he will star in the upcoming football movie Mr. Irrelevant, which is produced by Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison himself.

While it remains to be seen what his next DC project will be after Man of Tomorrow, fans will surely get more of his Superman with his continued involvement in the franchise.

With the impending merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery, the former is about to inherit one of WB’s biggest franchises, DC Studios and the DC Universe.

However, as the merger is set to happen at a time when DC Studios has just launched its reboot, with only five projects released so far, including Creature Commandos, Superman, Peacemaker Season 2, Supergirl, and Lanterns, there are fears that the incoming changes may affect the franchise.

But according to the studio’s executive producer Lars P. Winther, co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have already met with Paramount boss David Ellison to discuss the future of the DCU.

“He came to Trilith [Studios] already. That’s where we shoot all our movies that James directs,” Winther told The Hollywood Reporter. “He came to Atlanta, we showed him everything, and we’re having discussions with him.”

As the DC franchise has been labeled a curse for being repeatedly revised and rebooted, with the news of David Corenswet staying and Gunn and Safran meeting with Ellison, it looks like the DCU is here to stay.
