As James Gunn's Superman successfully expands to his cousin, Supergirl, could the Caped Crusader possibly receive the same treatment? Will we finally see Batman with his iconic sidekick, Robin, in live-action? Gunn debunks those rumors in this article.

Considering how The Batman Part I hit a successful box office record, why wouldn't fans think of having the Boy Wonder make his appearance in the sequel? Fans speculate that having a new take on Robin could spice things up in Gotham, but James Gunn has his own thoughts on that progression.
"Guys, please stop believing this nonsense," Gunn addressed the rumors on the Threads platform. "I think six of us have read the script. No one knows anything about Batman 2."
This isn't the first time Gunn has had to shut fan rumors down, and he even wrote on Monday, "Anything you've heard about that movie is made up or a guess. No one in the world knows anything about the concept for the story except four people."
After all, if there's anything Gunn hates more than spoiler leaks, it's bad spoiler leaks that wouldn't have made it into the final cut.
As it so happens, Gunn has been keeping himself busy in preparation for the next DC installments, including Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Clayface, and the next Wonder Woman, according to the official statement letter released by Warner Bros. Discovery on Thursday.
Additionally, The Batman Part II has just made its announcement of shooting next spring, which means it'll take a while before actual spoilers can start unveiling themselves online.
Which Robin Boy Wonder Could Batman Part II Work With?

Whether or not DC plans on having Robin join Bruce Wayne on his nightly rounds in Gotham in the sequel, what begs the question is how this version would work: with Brenton Thwaites in Titans or cast another to fit the bill?
Well, wouldn't you know it, Robert Pattinson previously expressed his take on what type of sidekick would best fit his Caped Knight.
"He had to be thirteen. That's the only way I'll accept it," Pattinson told Screen Rant, upon recalling the infamous DC storyline, Batman: A Death in the Family, as one of his favorites. "No, I love Death in the Family and stuff, but I think it'd be so cool. Also, people are scared of it, but it's kind of exciting. I think it would be a really fun addition."
While it's sad that 36-year-old Brenton didn't make Pattinson's cut, it would be a shame not to explore the Bat-Family at least, especially with the DC Universe expanding its roster of heroes. For now, only time will tell whether they amp up the plot or choose a different storyline for the sequel.
There is no official release date yet for The Batman Part II, but it is slated to premiere sometime in 2027.
