Black Widow Movie Reportedly Wants Moonlight Star To Play The Villainous Taskmaster

The highly anticipated Black Widow film is already expected to begin production this year and it looks like Marvel Studios already has someone in mind to play the main villain. A new report says that a Moonlight star could take on the role of Taskmaster in the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick.

According to We Got This Covered, a trusted source has confirmed that Taskmaster will be the Big Bad in Black Widow. In addition to that, Marvel already has its eye on André Holland, who had previously starred in Moonlight.

In the Marvel Ultimate comic books, Tony Masters aka Taskmaster is an ex-mercenary who can mimic the powers of anyone he comes in contact with. However, it is possible that Black Widow will change the villain's abilities into something more plausible. There's a huge chance that Taskmaster's original skills of copying his opponent's movements will come into play.

For now, Marvel has not yet confirmed anything about the Black Widow casting. Nevertheless, there are rumors that the film will begin production sometime in June to ensure that it's ready for release next year.

So far, Scarlett Johansson is the only confirmed cast member in the MCU flick. However, there have been reports that Florence Pugh and Emma Watson will be joining the film as well. Either way, Holland will be in good company if he does accept the role of Taskmaster.

Black Widow will be directed by Cate Shortland. Although it has not yet been given an official release date, the movie is expected to premiere in 2020.
