House of the Dragon Season 2 finally introduces one of its two new dragons, Moondancer.

The dragon has formed a bond with Prince Daemon Targaryen and Lady Laena Velaryon’s daughter, Baela, who ultimately becomes its rider.

Moondancer is one of the youngest dragons in George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood book series.

And due to being young, Moondancer is one of the fastest dragons in the series.

After first taking to the skies, the pair have already given fans a glimpse of what they are about to bring to the table as the Targaryen civil war begins.

In the first season’s final episode, Baela and her twin sister, Rhaena, were part of Queen Rhaenyra’s war table, hinting at their major roles in the then-upcoming battle.

As the young generation takes center stage in season 2, Baela is set to play a more important role in the events to come. Rhaenyra's task to Baela proves this, and she will be part of the impending battle.

She’s engaged to Rhaenyra’s son, Jacaerys, and fans may witness their marriage in House of the Dragon Season 2.

That said, she’s set to become Princess Consort of Dragonstone and future Queen of the Seven Kingdoms if the Blacks win the war.

In an interview with Radio Times, Bethany Antonia, who plays Baela, described their pairing as a “ray of light” in the darkness.

Harry Collett, who plays Jacaerys, even asked fans to enjoy watching Jace and Baela grow before their eyes, calling them the “healthiest couple in Westeros.”

“They do genuinely love each other,” he said. “Just enjoy watching Jace and Baela's relationship and how it grows and how they grow as people through all the emotions that are so high in the season.”

Should the showrunners decide to stick to the source material, three things could happen to Baela in House of the Dragon Season 2 based on the book Fire & Blood.

Spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.

The first one is Baela and Moondancer will ride to the Battle of Rook’s Rest, where Aegon and Aemond and their dragons, Sunfyre and Vhagar, will go against Rhaenys and her dragon, Meleys.

She may not join the battle, but she may help her grandmother and witness her fall.

The second is that Baela and her dragon may join her betrothed, Jacaerys, in leading the war with his dragon, Vermax, in the Battle of the Gullet, one of the bloodiest sea battles in the franchise’s history.

The last one is Baela and Moondancer will participate in the Greens' conquering of Dragonstone, led by Aegon and his dragon, Sunfyre.

If this all makes it into House of the Dragon Season 2, fans will see an emotional death like no other.

Fans are advised to take these assumptions with a grain of salt, as the show has yet to reveal what the future holds for Baela in the series.

Whatever the case is, fans should watch out for how she will participate in the Dance of the Dragons.
