A month before House of the Dragon Season 2 finally hits the small screen, HBO has dropped the official trailer for the much-awaited series. As expected, it’s filled with action with the incoming war between the Green and Black Councils, but there are several things you may have missed during the first watch.

After the death of Lucerys (Elliot Grihault) in the first season finale and the threat of the looming war, Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) begins her move to face her half-brother and the king of the Seven Kingdoms, Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney).

But several other things will happen here, from dragon fights to Targaryen family drama. The battle for the throne (and revenge) continues in House of the Dragon Season 2.

So, read the five things you may have missed in the House of the Dragon Season 2 trailer.

Rhaenyra knows the war is coming, and she is aware that neither of them will win this battle.

But amid the doubts and contemplations, Rhaenyra is ready to join the action in House of the Dragon Season 2.

At the 28-second mark, Rhaenyra is seen choosing a sword and wielding it. As everyone prepares for the big battle, she also readies herself to fight.

By the looks of it, fans may see the princess of the Targaryen dynasty using that sword either while riding her dragon, Syrax, or on land.

Baela Takes the Skies

You may not have noticed it, but Daemon’s daughter, Baela (Bethany Antonia), and her dragon, Moondancer, are taking the skies in the trailer at 1:55.

Baela seems to have joined the war and is chasing Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) down.

Though it remains to be seen if she will get to face Criston, whatever Moondancer does to him, he deserves it. The knight was never a good guy, after all.

The Return to Winterfell

In the first season finale, Rhaenyra’s eldest son, Jacaerys (Harry Collett), went to the North to secure allies.

That said, five years after the end of Games of Thrones, House of the Dragon Season 2 will take fans back to Winterfell.

Jacaerys will meet the Lord of Winterfell, Cregan Stark (Tom Taylor).

Based on the trailer, the two will go further North and may even give viewers a glimpse of The Wall again, bringing in major nostalgia.

We all know that a great war will begin in House of the Dragon Season 2, but it looks like it won’t just happen anywhere.

One place has been popping up in the almost 90-second trailer, hinting it will be a major part of the story. It’s where the army is marching, and Rhaenyra and Meleys keep flying forward.

From the looks of it, the place in question is the castle of Rook’s Rest in the Crownlands.

Famous for being the seat of House Staunton, it has also been known for answering directly to the King on the Iron Throne.

And with the importance of this place in George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood novel, on which parts of the show are based, something big is about to happen here.

The Arrival of Blood and Cheese

As the war looms, spymaster Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno) believes there’s “more than one way to fight a war.”

From there, mysterious figures appear in the dark, making their way to a building while holding their torchlights.

Add that to the scene where coins are being exchanged; it looks like one of the darkest moments in the novel is about to make its way to the small screen.

If the theories are true, the two shady characters are probably Blood and Cheese. Book readers probably know what will happen here.

Without going into the spoiler theory, prepare to be surprised by another unexpected event here.

House of the Dragon Season 2 will be released on June 16 on HBO and Max.
