What happened to Alex Russo's wand in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place? The once-known rulebreaker from the Russos may have won the family wizard competition, but how come she swaps wands upon her return?
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, so proceed with caution.
Did Alex Russo Change Her Wand in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place?
Alex Russo, the avid sneaky wiz of the Russo family, has surprisingly changed in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.
While she is best known for thinking outside the box and usually using tricks up her sleeve that do not adhere to the wizarding rules and regulations, Alex is not the same upon returning.
A tweet went viral on October 30, stating that Alex Russo "swapped" her mischievous wand for the Wizard Tribunal badge so she could uphold the Wizard law in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.
This remains to be unconfirmed, as of writing. Despite the uncertainty though, fans who grew up watching the show already expressed their qualms over the idea.
Fans Are Not Thrilled of the 'Worst' Overused Trope to Handle Legendary Troublemaker
While some of the fans believe that the "from rule breaker to lawmaker" trope seems fitting for Alex as a part of her character arc, most are not thrilled that the overused trope is being passed onto this Russo kid.
Aside from the fact that the show would seem one dimensional for giving Alex a job as a "wizard cop" or joining the "wizard ministry", 'taming' the Alex Russo would mean robbing her of the very essence that set her apart from her brothers.
Not to mention, most of Alex Russo's triumphant feats in the original series highlighted how going beyond the spellbook and its laws evidently worked out for her and in saving the wizarding world based on her unconventional methods.
To make matters worse, the Alex Russo fans knew always had the habit of keeping her wand tucked into her right boot, not in her coat.
