Who is Returning in Ahsoka Season 2?
We can expect Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Eman Esfandi, Ivanna Sakhno, David Tennant, Evan Whitten, and Lars Mikkelsen to return in Ahsoka season 2 since their respective characters survived the events of the first season finale.
However, it is unknown yet whether the role of Baylan Skoll will be recast in the new season following the untimely passing of Ray Stevenson.
There are rumors that Hayden Christensen is also returning in the second season to reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker, but Lucasfilm has not made any confirmation.
On the behind-the-scenes side, Dave Filoni is expected to continue his duty as the showrunner for the second season while serving as the Chief Creative Officer of Lucasfilm.
What Can We Expect in Ahsoka Season 2?
So far, the plot details regarding the second season are currently under wraps, but we can expect them to address the cliffhanger of the first season finale.
In case you forgot, the first season ended with Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren stuck in Peridea while Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger found their way back to the main galaxy.
Dawson recently teased about the second season in a podcast interview and shared her excitement about continuing the series.
"Hugely so. I mean, it's a big deal. It's huge. I love everyone. It's an incredible cast. It's a great group of people and we get more Ahsoka, we get more Sabine [Wren]," she said.
"We get more of these characters in a way that – and as much as we've watched all of the previous shows and everything – it's new storytelling, which is just insane to me. So I hope there's new costumes and I want to know what's going on."
When is Ahsoka Season 2 Coming Out?
Lucasfilm and Disney+ have not set a release window yet for Ahsoka season 2.
According to a report, filming for the second season is expected to begin in late 2024 although Lucasfilm has not made any confirmation.
If production does end up beginning in late 2024, it is likely that the new season won't premiere until the fall of 2025 or early 2026 before The Mandalorian & Grogu is set to arrive in theaters.
More news and announcements regarding Ahsoka season 2 will likely happen in the coming months as the project continues to be in development.
