LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy Features Return of Ahmed Best as Darth Jar Jar
Star Wars recently dropped our first look at the upcoming LEGO special titled Rebuild the Galaxy starring Gaten Matarazzo of Stranger Things fame as Sig Greebling.
The four-part animated special's plot is pretty straightforward, and seemingly takes a page from our Marvel Studios' What If...? series, exploring different alternate stories set in the Star Wars franchise.
Speaking of alternate realities, the fun-filled teaser ends with a menacing shot of Darth Jar Jar (voiced by Ahmed Best) wielding a red lightsaber, promising to inflict pain and punishment on Sig and potentially the entire galaxy.
Interestingly, Darth Jar Jar's arrival falls on Friday the 13th and whether or not that's intentional, we'll leave it up to you. Check out the official teaser for LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy here:

The existence of "Darth Jar Jar" has long been theorized by fans since our first introduction to the Gungan in The Phantom Menace. The fan theory has surprisingly managed to stick around after all these years and finally, Lucasfilm is pulling the trigger.
While the new LEGO special doesn't necessarily confirm whether the Gungan's turn to the dark side is actually canon, it's still a nice bit of fan service that hopefully could bring more complexity to the character that Star Wars diehards have long ridiculed.
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy begins streaming on September 13, exclusively on Disney+.
