This month, Blue Beetle is set to arrive in theaters and it will mark the titular hero's big-screen debut after decades of being a fan-favorite hero in the comics. It will also mark the first Latino-led superhero movie in the DC franchise.

However, an early tracking report has claimed that the film is being forecast to have a disappointing box office performance just like the other DCEU movies that were released this year.

It also doesn't help that the film won't be able to have the traditional marketing campaign since the cast is currently not allowed to do any promotions due to the ongoing actors' strike.

Now, as we're heading to its planned release in just a few weeks, one of the key figures from the DC franchise's past has shown his support for the film.

Last Sunday, to the surprise of many, Zack Snyder tweeted a new poster for Blue Beetle on X alongside a caption where he shared his excitement for the film and claimed that he will bring his kids to the theater to watch it.

"Looking forward to taking my kids to see Blue Beetle. #RepresentationMatters #BlueBeetle," he wrote in his post.

Considering that Snyder has no involvement in the development of the film and is not connected to the "Snyder-verse," it is surprising for fans to see him post about the film on social media and publicly show his support.

There are a lot of explanations that we can consider for why Snyder tweeted about the film. One likely scenario is that since actors are not allowed to promote the film, perhaps DC Studios decided to get the director's help in spreading the word regarding the movie.

Despite the fans rivaling the two on social media, Snyder and James Gunn are friends and former colleagues as they previously worked together in Dawn of the Dead and it was probably an easy favor for them to do.

It also shows that Snyder still has an affinity with the DC franchise despite the contentious past which happened during the old regime of Warner Bros and he is aware of the film's importance when it comes to representation as he highlighted on his hashtag.

As we also know now, Snyder also has a huge fanbase online and his endorsement of the film could entice more fans and perhaps the general audience to watch it in theaters.

Whether Snyder's public endorsement will work or not, this is a sign that we're starting to see how Warner Bros. and DC are going to promote the film in the midst of the strike and it is certain now that they are going on an unconventional route.
