As the highly anticipated fifth and final season of You approaches, fans prepare to bid farewell to the deeply troubled and obsessive stalker Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley).
Netflix unveiled a new teaser for You Season 5 during its 2025 film and TV preview event on Thursday, January 30, featuring Joe himself saying, “Goodbye, you.”
With the latest clip hinting at Joe’s return to his infamous glass cage, here’s everything we know so far about the killer’s homecoming.
You Season 5 Teaser Shows Joe Returning to His Roots
The over 30-second teaser shows Joe returning the glass cage he created from the first season to keep his enemies, including his first love interest, Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail).
“Hello, you,” he said, delivering his signature line.
“Haven't we met? I'm sure we must have crossed paths. Perhaps I can refresh your memory. I'm Joe. Let's get to know each other better before we bid one last farewell. Goodbye, you,” he continued.
For the first time since its inaugural season, the show will take place entirely in New York City, with Joe returning to his roots.
This marks the beginning of his dark path, where he first honed his deadly skills and had his first victims.
With this nostalgic return, the final season will feature iconic locations such as Mooney’s Rare & Used Books, where Joe’s glass cage is located.
As this sinister place symbolizes Joe’s past, it may play a crucial role in his final acts of violence.
