X-Men: Apocalypse Concept Art Teases a More Serious-Looking En Sabah Nur

X-Men: Apocalypse was the beginning of the end for Fox's X-Men for many, thanks to lackluster direction from accused pedophile Bryan Singer and the studio trying to cram in all these X-Men in one movie. The biggest offender to many was Apocalypse, who looked like Ivan Ooze from the Power Rangers and was a generic villain who wanted to take over the world, despite a fun, hammy performance from the normally good Oscar Isaac.

Well, it turns out that we almost got a slightly better version of Apocalypse if this promo art is anything to go by. This looks more faithful to the comics and is, surprisingly enough, more realistic-looking than the version we ended up seeing in the finished cut. While they did make the final version look a bit better, it's still silly-looking and is way too Ivan Ooze-looking.

Now that Disney has given Kevin Feige full reign over the X-Men and Fantastic Four, it's safe to assume that we won't be seeing any more of Isaac's Apocalypse. If we do ever see Apocalypse again, there's a good chance that he'll look better than the version we saw in, well, X-Men: Apocalypse.

Fans can get X-Men: Apocalypse on Blu-ray and digital now, with X-Men: Dark Phoenix coming soon to those platforms as well.
