X-Corp

X-Corp is the next evolution of Professor X's dream to protect mutantkind amid the growing threats and suffering they continue to endure.

While X-Men '97 is putting its own spin on the organization, X-Corp already has a fascinating history in Marvel Comics that the series may follow closely.

Professor X publicly announces the creation of X-Corp in Season 2, Episode 6, with its first headquarters built in the middle of Genosha's ruins as a memorial to Magneto and the countless mutants who died during the tragic Sentinel attack in X-Men '97 Season 1.

Rather than limiting the X-Men's mission to teaching and training young mutants at Xavier's School, X-Corp expands the team's efforts on a global scale.

With anti-mutant sentiment continuing to rise, Professor X realizes that protecting mutantkind requires a much greater international presence.

In Marvel Comics, X-Corp was also introduced as an international extension of the X-Men, with offices around the world dedicated to investigating violations of mutant rights.

However, unlike the version in X-Men '97, the comic book incarnation of X-Corp was never headquartered on Genosha.

Professor X and the X-Men

By the looks of it, X-Corp has a major role to play in X-Men '97 Season 2 and beyond.

With the help of the organization, the X-Men are now in a much stronger position to operate on a global scale and protect mutants wherever they are needed.

Being headquartered on Genosha may also allow Professor X to avoid political pressure from the US government, as well as the ongoing disagreements with Valerie Cooper and her government-sanctioned mutant team, X-Factor.

With the imminent threat of Apocalypse looming, Professor X wants the X-Men to be fully prepared for what's to come and ultimately confront En Sabah Nur.

Now that Apocalypse has resurrected Gambit as his new Horseman of Death, the X-Men may rely on X-Corp's global resources and support to defeat the ancient mutant and his growing army when the final battle arrives.
