During the Battle at Rook's Rest, why didn't Rhaenys Targaryen command 'Dracarys' to her dragon, Meleys? The recent episode of House of the Dragon season 2 has fans scratching their heads.

The Rhaenys actress, Eve Best, however, has the perfect response for it.

Rhaenys Targaryen Lost Her Chance To Beat Aemond and Aegon

While Aemond Targaryen was more than willing to do anything to take the Iron Throne from his brother, Aegon, he doesn't plan on letting the Blacks win either.

Rhaenys may have gotten the opening space to flee the scene to save herself and Meleys to return to the Black faction, but she still turned around to face Aemond and his dragon, Vhagar.

She was unfortunate in her decision to sacrifice herself.

Many House of the Dragon fans argued that she should have chosen to leave, knowing full well that nothing could beat the oldest and strongest dragon, Vhagar.

However, one key moment in season 2 episode 4 titled The Red Dragon and the Gold did not go unnoticed: how come Rhaenys commanded Meleys to "attack" instead of ordering the beast to destroy Aemond and Aegon?

Here's what the House of the Dragon star Eve Best had to say.

"They're just like boys with guns; they want to maximize the amount of carnage," Rhaenys actress Eve Best explained recently, "And there's something very... I don't want to generalize, but, you know, it's very male."

Rhaenys was not the type to wreak more havoc in the castle than she had to at their expense. If anything, she was merely targeting to disarm both from their dragon ride.

Best added that Rhaenys intentionally said "attack" as opposed to wreaking more violence against Aemond and Aegon, "Whereas [Rhaenys was] very specifically going for the dragon: 'Let's take out the weaponry and don't burn everybody else randomly.'"

The Crown star also said that while Rhaenys could have just as easily escaped, she chose to turn around, "To me, that's pure whatever she is. It's the noble warrior thinking, 'No, I'm not just going to save myself. I'm going to finish this.'"
