Die Hard isn’t just an ordinary action movie; it’s a cultural icon and one of the most influential action films of all time.
Released in 1988, the Bruce Willis film, which catapulted him to stardom, became synonymous with explosive action, memorable one-liners, and Willis’ legendary portrayal of wisecracking New York cop John McClane.
As Die Hard set the template for “lone hero vs. bad guys” films, it spawned a franchise of four sequels, and became an unconventional Christmas movie. Here’s where you can watch all the Die Hard movies online and how to use a VPN, such as ExpressVPN or VeePN, if they aren’t available in your country.
Where to Watch Die Hard Movies
Based on Roderick Thorp’s 1979 novel, Die Hard follows New York City police detective John McClane, who becomes entangled in a terrorist takeover of a Los Angeles skyscraper while visiting his estranged wife during a Christmas Eve party.
The film transformed Bruce Willis from a TV actor into one of Hollywood’s highest-paid stars and a leading man, while antagonist Alan Rickman became an instant celebrity for his critically acclaimed portrayal of the iconic villain Hans Gruber.
The sequels continue to follow McClane as he repeatedly finds himself in crises, where he is both the only hope to save everyone and the primary target of the antagonist.
If that's intriguing enough for you, then here’s where you can watch all five Die Hard movies:
- Stream: Hulu, Disney+, AMC+
- Rent or Purchase: Amazon Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home
How to Use a VPN to Watch Die Hard Movies
Streaming rights vary by country, so there may be times when Die Hard isn’t available on your preferred streaming service, depending on your location. But don’t worry, a VPN can help.
By connecting to a server in a country where the film is available, such as the US, you can access platforms like Hulu and Disney+, or even region-specific options. This bypasses geo-restrictions, making it appear as though you’re browsing from that location.
Popular VPN services like ExpressVPN and VeePN are what we'd recommend for their reliability and speed, ensuring a seamless viewing experience.

Other VPN Options to Consider

- NordVPN: Offers strong security and provides excellent server speeds.
- Surfshark: Unlimited device connections at an affordable price.
- CyberGhost: Known for its fast speed and reliable server networks across countries.
- Private Internet Access: Known for strong privacy features and an affordable, feature-rich VPN service
VPNs do more than grant access to geo-restricted content; they also play a key role in protecting your online privacy. By masking your IP address and encrypting your internet traffic, you make it significantly harder for anyone to monitor your online activity.
So, for maximum security, keep your VPN enabled whenever you’re browsing or streaming your favorite shows.
Will There Be a Die Hard Reboot?

In 2023, rumors circulated that John Krasinski would star in a Die Hard reboot, fueled by a poster that went viral online.
The film was reportedly set for release on December 24, 2024, but the year came and went without a new Die Hard movie. It was later revealed that the poster was fake, and Krasinski’s image was taken from his 2016 film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.
At one point, the franchise was expected to continue with a prequel called McClane, which was intended to be the sixth installment. However, it was ultimately canceled following Disney’s acquisition of Fox.
Several scripts for the sixth film existed prior to the acquisition, but afterward, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura told Polygon that he had no idea “what their plans are” for the film.
So, we're just stuck with the five Die Hard movies for now. Still, five is a lot, so make sure you start streaming them today!
Keep it locked on EpicStream, your go-to source for film, TV, and celebrity news!
