The upcoming fan-made project Attack on Titan: Requiem is set to explore an alternate ending of the hit anime series.

The project is a welcome addition for many fans as there has been no official new content in the Attack on Titan world following the end of the series and this is an opportunity to explore a new avenue.

Let's explore everything we know so far about the upcoming fan-made project.

What is Attack on Titan: Requiem About?

Based on the "Akatsuki no Requiem" music video, Attack on Titan: Requiem serves as a rewrite of the final three chapters of Attack on Titan. It is one long chapter updated in parts, following the events of the previous chapters contained within the source material (chapters 1-136).

It is created by diverse passionate fans who share a strong affectionate for the anime and manga. Studio Eclypse is responsible for the production of the fan-made project.

Hajime Isayama has zero involvement in the project nor anyone involved in the making of the anime series.

A new trailer was recently released which gave fans their first look at the alternate ending and its animation style that pays tribute to the original.

Based on the footage, while it borrows the animation style that Studio MAPPA originated, it still feels different and unique from the artists involved in the fan-made project and it's interesting to see how it all plays out.

When is Attack on Titan: Requiem Coming Out?

Attack on Titan: Requiem is set to premiere this January 15 with the English dub version that consists of new voice actors behind the iconic characters.

There is no release date set yet for the Japanese version, but it is slated to premiere later this year.

Fans who are interested to see the project and what the alternate ending looks like, watch out for more updates in the coming days leading up to its premiere.

Meanwhile, the website of the fan-made project already has the manga version of their alternate ending.
