A newly surfaced email and unsealed court documents claim that Taylor Swift, along with Hugh Jackman, witnessed Ryan Reynolds confront Justin Baldoni over comments he allegedly made about Blake Lively’s weight while they were working on It Ends With Us.
The high-profile legal battle between Baldoni and Lively continues, and the newly unsealed evidence provides additional insight into the events that unfolded during the dispute. So, what did Swift actually see at the time?
What the Leaked Email Reveals About Taylor Swift’s Role in the Reynolds–Baldoni Clash

The leaked emails were exchanged between Baldoni’s publicist and Wayfarer Studios co-founder Jamey Heath’s team in July 2024.
The documents revealed that Baldoni went to Reynolds and Lively’s New York City penthouse on April 25, 2023, where the Deadpool star reportedly “unloaded” on him about “how horrible it was” to ask a woman about her weight, leaving Baldoni “completely embarrassed,” and he allegedly apologized, even shedding some tears.
The papers also state that Swift and Jackman were in the apartment when the confrontation took place.
For context, Lively alleged that her co-star fat-shamed her by asking her personal trainer about her weight because he needed to lift her in a scene. Baldoni, however, claimed he asked due to his back issues, which he saw as a valid concern.
The Another Simple Favor star filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign.
Her legal team has previously listed Swift and Jackman as potential witnesses. So far, both have remained silent about the incident.
How Taylor Swift Responded to the Lively–Baldoni Lawsuit

While Jackman was frequently seen with Reynolds and Lively, attending the It Ends With Us premiere on August 9, 2024, and appearing with Lively on the cover of Vogue in September 2024, Swift’s involvement was very different.
It appears the pop superstar has been keeping her distance from the issue. Her spokesperson emphasized that she had no role in the production of the controversial 2024 film, despite Lively using her influence to pressure Baldoni into accepting a rewritten version of a scene. Swift’s song, “My Tears Ricochet,” was featured in the movie.
“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set, was not involved in casting or creative decisions, did not score the film, never reviewed an edit or made notes, and did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release. During 2023 and 2024, she was traveling globally, headlining one of the biggest tours in history,” the spokesperson said.
Despite being a close friend of Lively and the godmother of her three daughters, the two have not been seen together since.
