Ask any DC fan and they would answer the same thing: no one asked for a sequel. No one asked for a Joker and Harley Quinn tandem or a musical for Joker 2, and yet everything was embedded into Folie à Deux, anyway.

Despite filmmaker Todd Phillips confirming to fans that Joker 2 won't be a musical as the trailer initially suggests, the film on the big screens begged to differ, which led fans to question what happened to the sequel's promising story.

Considering that the Joker sequel's premiere practically got a standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival ahead of its theatrical release, fans were hoodwinked into believing the stellar reviews that they would enjoy the flick.

According to an insider source Puck News, Warner Bros. reportedly declined to test screen Joker: Folie à Deux to audiences before the sequel even wrapped up filming.

That said, DC fans latched onto the idea that perhaps the company's heart wasn't even set in making Arthur Fleck a legacy outside of the DC Universe in the first place, especially since Folie à Deux brought it back into the Batman Universe.

It is worth mentioning that the majority of the clips fans grew somewhat fond of from the trailer are NOT even featured in the main story, as well.

There were barely a few elements that DC fans considered before purchasing their seats to watch the premiere, and yet most would choose to leave out of the absurdity Joker 2 portrayed and wrecked from the first flick's origin story.
