- Quick Answer: Vought Rising is an upcoming 1950s prequel series to The Boys starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, scheduled to release on Prime Video in 2027.
The Boys may be over, but the story of the Supes continues in the upcoming spinoff, Vought Rising.
Prime Video has already released the first trailer for the new prequel series, featuring the return of some familiar and not-so-loved Supes.
But while not everyone is able to see it, here’s what the Vought Rising trailer reveals.
What Does the Vought Rising Trailer Reveal?
The Boys celebrated its series finale with a premiere event in Los Angeles. There, attendees weren’t just treated to the spectacle of the show’s ending, but also to the first short trailer for Vought Rising.
However, the trailer hasn’t been released to the rest of the world, leaving only a lucky few who were able to witness it.
Via The Direct, the trailer begins with a quick glimpse of Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Clara Vought (Aya Cash), aka Stormfront, also known as Liberty. Wearing their civilian clothing, the two stare at each other.
The next scene introduces three new figures, played by Brian J. Smith, KiKi Layne, and another unidentified star. They appear to be retrieving classic technology, including what seems to be a 1950s-era radio from a car trunk, though their purpose remains unclear.
Bombsight, played by Mason Dye, appears next. The US combat pilot and V-One Supe seems to be receiving public recognition for his military service from KiKi Layne’s character in front of the press and his fellow soldiers.
A black-and-white news broadcast of Voices in Politics is also shown, with the host declaring, “God blessed us with these extraordinary heroes,” as another new Supe, Private Angel (Elizabeth Posey), winks at the camera.
Elsewhere, the trailer features the Sage Grove Center from The Boys Season 2, where Jorden Myrie’s character is injected with Compound V, transforming him into a new Supe.
Chaos then ensues as armored, bloodied soldiers open fire all around him, while uniformed police kick down a door to find a well-dressed man and Private Angel screaming.
Myrie’s character, with his glowing green eyes and super strength, manages to break free from both the cell and the heavily armed men firing around him.
He is then captured by Liberty and a young Frederick Vought, who appears to be creating new Supes as the inventor of Compound V. A cow is also injected with the Supe serum, following The Boys Season 4’s reveal of Vought’s animal experimentation.
By the end of the trailer, Soldier Boy, Private Angel, Bombsight, and Torpedo are all seen posing for reporters as crowds cheer–perfectly in line with The Boys’ signature style.
What is Vought Rising About?

Set in the 1950s, Vought Rising explores the origins of the Supes, Vought International, and the dark, twisted romance between Soldier Boy and a young Clara Vought.
The series delves into the early days of Vought, secret laboratories, political conspiracies, and the initial rollout of Compound V.
Also created by Eric Kripke, the show is described as a gritty murder mystery in the style of L.A. Confidential, detailing how the first superheroes were manufactured and how Vought gradually built its corporate empire during the Cold War.
Vought Rising is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video in 2027.
