Tsukimichi season 3 is something many fans are hoping gets announced sometime soon, hopefully after the second season's upcoming finale.
Based on the gap between the first two seasons, and if it gets produced, the third season might take a while before premiering. There is hope though, given that the series continues to be popular.
Even if a third season is announced right after season 2, fans will need to wait, as the second season hasn't ended yet.
Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Season 3 Release Date Predictions
As there was a nearly three-year gap between seasons 1 and 2, it’s not clear if Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy will get a season 3 announcement soon, especially if there will be a similar gap between seasons 2 and 3.
Of course, it’s tough to predict right now, especially as part 2 of the second season continues to air. We’ll likely get a clearer picture after the spring 2024 season.
If we do get a third season, the gap between seasons 2 and 3 will likely also be three years given the time it takes to produce the series. If that's the case, fans may need to wait until 2027 before the third season comes out.
Aside from it being renewed, one of the biggest concerns among fans is whether there's enough material from the original light novel series for a third season.
Will There Be Enough Material for Another Tsukimichi Season?
Similar to most isekai anime, Tsukimichi is based on an ongoing light novel series of the same name.
The novel series began back in May 2013 and has since gotten 19 volumes. It has also gotten a manga adaptation that began in 2015, which now has 13 volumes.
Given the number of volumes for both the novel series and the manga, there may be enough material for a third season. That's because season 2 seems to be covering up to volume 10 of the novels.
Some fans are still concerned, though, given how fast the pace of the second season is, to the point that some details are being skipped.
Tsukimichi Season 3's Potential Story
Based on the current pace, the second season will cover the events of the novel up until volume 10.
In that case, season 3 should pick up at the beginning of volume 11. There, the countries of the world are still recovering from the chaotic mutant riot.
Soon, Makoto is invited to a meeting with the king of the demons, meaning he journeys next to the demon capital.
This is a major development for the series, though it has been foreshadowed in season 2, as Makoto has had some interesting encounters with demons.
