The Penguin spinoff series was given a green light under HBO Max and given that The Batman also released on the same platform plus the merger of Warner Bros. Discovery, the series perfectly sits well on HBO Max as its home.
The Penguin's spinoff series' plot still remains under wraps but The Batman left a few clues on how the show will go. It's set when The Batman ends with Gotham still facing the massive flood that Riddler caused so the place is still in the rubbles of a fiasco.
Carmine Falcone's influence still lingers in Gotham and with the casting of his daughter, Sofia Falcone, it seems that his crime syndicate empire will continue and that could mean that Oswald Cobblepot may have his spot under this regime, thus, The Penguin series.
The Penguin spinoff series has no official release date yet but it is speculated to be coming out next year.
