When Matt Reeves' film on the Caped Crusader came out, it brought with it the introduction of The Penguin, and he is about to get his own spinoff.
Here is everything you need to know for The Batman series with the release date and time, countdown, spoilers, theories, plots, previews, and the rest of it.
The Penguin Spinoff Series Confirmed!
Upon the arrival of The Batman directed by Matt Reeves, the rendition of Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader and the villain, Oswald Cobblepot, The Penguin, made a short but remarkable debut that even with the small amount of time on screen, he secured his own spinoff series.
In a report from Variety in October 2022, Penguin spinoff series has been given a green light in March 2022 which means the series has been in pre-production since then, enough to set in stone what it will be about and how will it affect or complement that of Reeves' The Batman.
Following the reveal of its approval from HBO Max, Collider reported that the filming of The Penguin will be happening on January 2023.
The Penguin Release Date: When Will The Batman Spinoff Series Come Out?
To date, there is still no release date attached for The Penguin but given that it will only start filming in January 2023, that won't be finished until some time in Summer 2023.
Only a release window has been confirmed for The Penguin and it is set to arrive in 2024 on Max, the new name of HBO Max launching on May 2023.
The Penguin is set to have eight episodes for the whole series.

The Penguin Cast: Who are the Actors Included in The Batman Spinoff Series?
Given that it will be a spinoff series from The Batman of Matt Reeves, The Penguin will be portrayed by Colin Farrell who had a few screen time on the movie but it was enough to guarantee him his very own show.
In an interview with Collider, Farrell teased the show, "I think if it goes ahead, I read the first episode, which is just so tasty and so unusual as the character was on the page and what Matt Reeves kind of envisioned when he was thinking of this iteration of the bang up of Oz."
Variety also reported that Cristin Milioti will be joining the Penguin spinoff series as Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Carmine Falcone of the Falcone Crime Syndicate which is the head of the teeming criminal underworld in Gotham, whom Penguin works under.
Recently, veteran actor Clancy Brown has been tapped to play the mob boss and Gotham City gangster, Salvatore Maroni, who got involved in the historic drug bust in the city.
Michael Zegen is also tapped to join the cast as the brother of Sofia and son of Carmine Falcone, Alberto Falcone.
Rhenzy Feliz joins the cast of Penguin, as well, but his role remains under wraps other than being a lead character in the series.
Other cast members whose roles are still undisclosed are Michael Kelly, Scott Cohen, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O'Connell, James Madio, Theo Rossi, Francois Chau, Carmen Ejogo, and David H. Holmes.
[This article will be updated if there would be additional cast members.]
The Penguin Crew: Who are the Creative Minds Behind the Scenes?
Matt Reeves will be back for the project but not as a director because this time, he will be the executive producer of The Penguin spinoff series through the 6th & Idaho production house with Daniel Pipski as well.
Dylan Clark from Dylan Clark Productions will also be another executive producer while Rafi Croh will be a co-executive producer. Warner Bros. Television remains to be the studio producing The Penguin spinoff series.
Meanwhile, Mare of Easttown director Craig Zobel will be sitting on the director's chair for the Penguin spinoff series as reported by Discussing Film. Zobel is also known for his work on Z for Zachariah, The Hunt, Westworld, American Gods, The Leftovers, and Compliance.
The showrunner of The Penguin series will be Lauren LeFranc who has tons of experience when it comes to series like Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Hemlock Grove, Impulse, and Chuck.
It has been confirmed that the first three episodes of The Penguin will be written by Lauren LeFranc and Craig Zobel.
The production of The Penguin has been put to a halt due to the current strike of the Writers Guild of America.
The Penguin Plot: What Will be the Plot of the Series?
The Penguin's spinoff series has no released plot yet but The Batman left a few clues on how the show will go.
It's set when The Batman ends with Gotham still facing the massive flood that Riddler caused so it is still in a state of fiasco.
Carmine Falcone's influence still remains and with the casting of his daughter, Sofia Falcone, it seems that his crime syndicate empire will continue and that could mean that Oswald Cobblepot may have his spot under this regime.
Colin Farrell teased to ComicBook.com, "It's just that it's kind of an amazing character to explore, his kind of awkwardness, and his strength, and his villainy, yes, his propensity for violence. But there's also a heartbroken man inside there you know, which just makes it really tasty."
Other than that, The Penguin could also deal with how Oswald Cobblepot could rebuild the villainous empire and make a huge threat for Batman to come out once more, a great preparation for the upcoming sequel of the movie which has already been confirmed.
