Many had assumed that promising superhero horror movie The New Mutants would be dead in the water but we finally got an update, though it doesn't completely confirm if the movie will be coming out. We all know that there are major reshoots planned but those haven't been done yet and everyone, from the actors to the production crew, has been wondering when they will be done.
If Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg has his way, they would be able to do the reshoots this year and prepare for a 2020 release. Kinberg is hoping this happens at least since the director told Digital Spy that there are some difficulties in getting the reshoots to happen for a number of reasons.
Maisie Williams has finished Game of Thrones so she might be available in the near future but it seems like getting her and everyone else is going to be difficult. There are also reports that the reshoots are going to add a new character but that has yet to be confirmed and most of us just want to see this movie already.
The New Mutants will supposedly come out in 2020.
