- Quick Answer: Oded Fehr and Kevin J. O'Connor join Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in The Mummy reboot, raising big questions about Beni's mysterious resurrection.
Two more original The Mummy characters are set to return in the reboot, joining Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in the lost ancient City of the Dead, Hamunaptra.
By the looks of it, a major reunion is on the horizon in the fourth installment of Universal Pictures' beloved monster franchise.
But with one of the returning characters believed to have died in the original film, how can he return in The Mummy Reboot?
Who Returns in The Mummy Reboot?

Deadline revealed that franchise veterans Kevin J. O'Connor and Oded Fehr are set to reprise their roles as Beni Gabor and Ardeth Bay.
Fehr has previously expressed interest in returning to the franchise following his appearances in the original film and 2001's The Mummy Returns.
As Ardeth Bay, the Medjai chieftain led a secret society of elite warriors tasked with guarding the Sahara Desert. He later became a trusted ally of the O'Connell family, dedicating his life to ensuring that the High Priest Imhotep would never be resurrected while training the next generation in the ways of the Medjai.
Meanwhile, O'Connor portrayed the cowardly and self-serving Beni Gabor, who would betray anyone–including his former friend Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser)–to save himself. The former French Foreign Legion soldier eventually turned against Rick, siding with the resurrected Imhotep and becoming his loyal servant.
However, Beni met his apparent end in the first film after being devoured alive by scarab beetles, making his return in The Mummy Reboot one of the biggest mysteries surrounding the sequel.
Numan Acar has also joined the reboot, though his role has yet to be revealed.
How Can Dead Characters Return in The Mummy Reboot?

Details about the plot of The Mummy Reboot remain under wraps, but if the franchise has proven anything, it's that bringing dead characters back is nothing new.
The underworld is very much a real place in this monster universe, with the spirits of the deceased capable of haunting and terrorizing the living.
With that in mind, it wouldn't be difficult for Beni to return from the dead, and it appears he may not be the only character making a resurrection.
Notably, Oded Fehr did not appear in 2008's The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor because Imhotep was absent from the story, previously explaining that it wouldn't have made sense for Ardeth Bay to return without the High Priest.
With Ardeth Bay now back, it raises the possibility that Imhotep will also rise again and play a significant role in The Mummy Reboot.
For now, fans will have to wait and see what unfolds when The Mummy Reboot arrives in theaters on October 15, 2027.
