There is no doubt that The Last of Us season 2 is filled with a couple more twists and turns, one bad heartbreak worse than the last. But there's one particular scene The Last of Us showrunner believes fans will "eat up" this second season.

The Last of Us Showrunner Teases Particular Season 2 Scenes Fans Should Anticipate

Fans who played the Naughty Dog video game prior to the release of the HBO show are well aware that Part 2 is about to become the most devastating escalation in the post-apocalyptic story of Joel and Ellie.

Apart from introducing new characters, Part 2 marked a bigger milestone Ellie had to take before she reached the end of it all.

As The Last of Us showrunner Neil Druckmann shares his fascination with fans who watched the show and then played the game, he reiterates that there is one particular scene we should expect in season 2:

"The game sometimes hints at stuff that we just don't have time to get into the show that the game can and vice versa," Druckmann explained, adding that experiencing both formats makes the experience cooler than it already is.

Then comes the hook for The Last of Us season 2.

"And there's stuff in this season that I'm really excited about — stuff that we hinted at — one scene, in particular, comes to mind that I think fans of the game will eat up," Druckmann teased, "Because it really kind of tells you a lot of backstory of this important character that there wasn't really a way for us to ever do that in the game."

In this case, we're looking at two potential characters: Joel Miller and Abby Anderson. While Joel could just as easily hail the spotlight on exploring his background, Abby seems more likely the answer here.

As game fans know, she's out for revenge, and there's a chance that this revenge will unlock a never-before-seen part of her history.
