The Dark Knight Trilogy Actor is Top Pick Amongst Fans to Play Doctor Doom

After two failed attempts by Fox to establish the Fantastic Four as a formidable superhero team, Marvel fans have seemingly lost faith that they'll ever see a proper live-action adaptation of comic book's so-called First Family. However, all that changed when Marvel Studios officially confirmed in 2020 that Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing are all coming to the MCU.

Over the last couple of years, the studio has been keeping everything under wraps about the anticipated reboot and as it stands, we still don't know when the project will actually begin its production. Despite that, the excitement from the fandom continues to grow.

Now, with rumors of Doctor Doom set to make his MCU debut in upcoming projects, people have begun fan casting the actor who will breathe new life into the sinister villain. Among the top picks for the part is none other than Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy who many believe has what it takes to portray the role to perfection.

Cillian is no longer a stranger to the superhero world himself, having played Jonathan Crane aka Scarecrow in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy so that alone gives him some sort of edge. Check out some of the tweets below:

Many believe that Marvel has been planting the seeds for Victor von Doom's arrival to the franchise. In Moon Knight, there is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment that seem to hint Doom's impending entry to the MCU but the studio hasn't confirmed nor denied it.

Now, as for Cillian's potential casting, while nothing has been officially announced, it's worth noting that Kevin Feige previously granted the fans' wishes to see John Krasinski as Mister Fantastic so there is an actual chance.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four is currently in development.
