Jeremy Renner recently teased that he is getting ready to make his long-awaited MCU comeback, including the potential season 2 of Hawkeye.
Following his near-death snowplow accident in January 2023, fans have been wondering whether Renner is still open to playing Clint Barton/Hawkeye again in the MCU, considering that he might still be in recovery and not yet allowed to do any physical stunts. He is also notably absent from the list of actors who are expected to star in Avengers: Doomsday.
Is Jeremy Renner Ready to Play Clint Barton Again in Hawkeye Season 2?

In an interview with Empire, Renner shared that he is preparing his body to return to the MCU as Clint Barton, whether it's starring in Hawkeye season 2 or another movie.
"I’m always happy to be in that world, man. I love all those guys, I love the character. I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2 [of Hawkeye], and do other things. And I’m happy to do it," he said.
"My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights."
Renner added that he is "more than 150%" recovered from his 2023 snowplow accident, which is why he is ready more than ever to do stunt work again.
"Having health and wellness be such a central part of my life, that’s what’s gotten me back. And even as I age, I just feel stronger than I’ve been. I have some issues, and tendon issues, and certain limitations of flexibility and mobility, but I spent a lot of time on getting better and stronger, and I wouldn’t if I didn’t get crushed," he said.
What Happened in Jeremy Renner's 2023 Snowplow Accident?
A few months ago, Renner released a memoir titled My Next Breath, where he opened up about the events that led to his snowplow accident and the one tiny detail that he regretted ignoring, which led to him being run over.
"'Before exiting the driver’s cab! — Apply parking brake,' the manual says. But I didn’t engage the parking brake, or disengage the steel tracks. In that moment — an innocent, critical, life-changing moment — that tiny but monumental slip of the mind would change the course of my life forever," he wrote.
"My feet lost their grip on the moving tracks, and I never made it to the cab. I lurched violently forward, out of control. In that split second I was catapulted off the spinning metal tracks, arms flailing. I arced over the front of the tracks, propelled forward, down on to the hard-packed ice, where my head hit the ground hard and instantly gashed open."
Renner continued, "There came terrible crunching sounds as 14,000lb of galvanised steel machinery slowly, inexorably, monotonously, ground over my body. It was a horrifying soundtrack."
The actor also shared the details on the extent of his injuries and the life-saving care that he received from the paramedics. As we all know, he had a swift recovery soon after and managed to resume his acting career.
