The Boys’ Homelander actor Antony Starr may have hinted at a future DC role, at least based on an intriguing name-drop.
With the show’s fourth season coming very soon, all eyes are once again on The Boys’ cast. While the show is also getting a fifth season, many fans are hoping the show’s stars like Antony Starr can also get more superhero roles.
One danger here is that superhero fatigue might be a thing for some. As such, Starr was asked about the phenomenon. Aside from his interesting answer, he may have also implied his future DC involvement.
The Boys’ Homelander May Have Hinted DC Role by Name-Dropping James Gunn
Recently, Anthony Starr was asked by Cinema Blend in a The Boys press conference about superhero fatigue.
There, he mentioned that he doesn’t believe in superhero fatigue. That’s not just because he’s playing a role in a huge superhero series (albeit a twisted one). Instead, he said that he believes the audience is still hungry for superhero content.
In his answer, Starr also mentioned that superhero fatigue doesn’t seem to be a thing whenever a new James Gunn project is announced. He then follows by saying that it’s less about superhero fatigue and more that audiences are looking for fresh ideas and stories.
Starr could’ve mentioned plenty of recent superhero project examples that have been well-received, though it’s curious that he specifically mentioned James Gunn given that isn’t a DC series.
As a superhero genre fan, it makes sense that he’s excited about Gunn’s work, especially as the notable director is working on the new DC universe as the co-CEO of DC Studios.
This might also be a hint at his potential DC involvement, especially considering that there are plenty of rumors about him being cast in a future project.

Fans Already Have Interesting Antony Starr DC Role Ideas
With one of the next DC projects being a Booster Gold series for Max, there have already been plenty of rumors about Antony Starr being one of the top choices to play the character.
Given Booster Gold’s obsession with wealth and fame, Starr seems to be the perfect choice for the role given his ongoing stint as Homlander.
Fans also agree as there are plenty of discussions online about comic fans wanting to see Starr as Booster Gold.
Another role that fans want to hopefully see him in is Reverse Flash, to the point that there are plenty of edits of Starr as the iconic Flash villain.
As Reverse Flash is just as big of a sociopath as Homelander, Starr would also no doubt be a great fit for the role.
