Stranger Things has now come to an end, giving every major character the closure they deserved – except for one new addition: Vickie (Amybeth McNulty).
Introduced as Robin’s (Maya Hawke) love interest in Season 4, Vickie took on a bigger role in Season 5 as a skeptical partner who was eventually pulled into the chaos of the Upside Down.
However, after her last appearance at the WSQK radio station, where she helped Max (Sadie Sink) hide from the soldiers, Vickie seemingly vanished. Nothing more was shown or said about her fate.
So where is Vickie, and what happened to her after the Stranger Things Season 5 finale?
What Happened to Vickie in Stranger Things Season 5?

After everything that has happened, the Stranger Things Season 5 finale featured an extended epilogue set 18 months later.
Everyone has returned home to celebrate Dustin (Dustin Matarazzo), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will (Noah Schnapp), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Max’s graduation.
On the other hand, Robin, Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Steve (Joe Keery), and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) reunite on the rooftop of the WSQK building.
As they share some details about their lives after the fight against Vecna, Robin appears to be quietest.
However, when talking about their monthly reunion and promising nothing will stop them, Robin hints at what may have happened between her and Vickie when she mentioned nothing could keep them apart – not even “overbearing significant others.”
By the looks of it, the two may have broken up, with Robin hinting Vickie may be “overbearing.” With that said, the show appears to have just moved on without Vickie, not giving her a definitive closure.
What Happened in the Stranger Things Season 5 Finale?

The Stranger Things Season 5 finale centered on the final battle against Vecna and the complete collapse of the Upside Down.
The core group works together to finally bring Vecna down, with Eleven taking the lead. After Vecna’s defeat and the destruction of the Hive Mind, the heroes return to Hawkins – only to be intercepted by Dr. Kay (Linda Hamilton) and her soldiers.
Aiming to capture Eleven, the military forces try to find her but she’s nowhere to be found. She ultimately returns to the Upside Down, seemingly sacrificing herself to permanently close the gate and end its connection to Hawkins once and for all.
However, the show leaves her fate deliberately ambiguous. Mike suggests a theory that Kali (Linnea Berthelsen) did not actually die after being shot by a soldier and instead helped create an illusion of Eleven.
In this version, the Eleven who appeared to vanish as the gate closed was merely a projection, while the real Eleven escaped and went on to live freely in a peaceful town.
“There are two roads that Eleven could take. There’s this darker, more pessimistic one, or the optimistic, hopeful one,” co-creator Matt Duffer told TUDUM. “Mike is the optimist of the group and has chosen to believe in that story.”
Ultimately, it’s up to fans to decide what they “believe” Eleven’s true fate really is.
