There is little doubt that the production and marketing teams for Stranger Things Season 3 put in a lot of effort to get all their details right, all the way down to Murray Bauman's phone number. Yes, that number is listed and yes, you can call it right now if you want to reach the investigative journalist.
The people at Vulture took note of Murray's phone number (618-625-8313, if you want to try your luck) and tried calling. Amazingly, it's a working number and you get put through to a voicemail message delivered by Brett Gelman.
Here's a transcription of the first part of Murray's message.

Interestingly, the area code can be traced down to several cities in southern Illinois. In case you forgot, Murray used to work for the Chicago Sun-Times so it makes perfect sense. Still, if you're not Mom or Joyce, you're not getting anything other than this hilarious message.
