Star Wars: The Old Republic Comes to Steam After Nine Long Years

It took them a few years but EA has finally brought Star Wars: The Old Republic to Steam after nine long years. This is something that a lot of fans have been asking for so it's actually nice to see the game more readily available for everyone, while also being free-to-play to boot. We're sure that fans everywhere will give the game a shot, especially if they're one of the many people who have been waiting for the title.

The Old Republic is set in a similar setting to Knights of The Old Republic, taking place 3,000 years before Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. Players can choose to be a Jedi, a bounty hunter, or something else entirely since the universe is open for everyone. Granted, you'll probably need to be a Jedi if you're friend is one but that's nothing a few texts can't fix.

While the game is free-to-play, The Old Republic does have some subscription services that players can check out. Benefits include being able to play with all of the game's expansions, an increased level cap from 60 to 75, more XP gain from battles, and other cool gifts. It's not too surprising seeing this since the game has to make money.

Plus, other online games still make you pay for playing and require a subscription *cough*World of Warcraft*cough*Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn*cough.*

Check out Star Wars: The Old Republic right now on Steam. Any other Star Wars games you want to see in the online store? Let us know in the comments below.
