One of the best things about The Mandalorian would be the awesome Easter Eggs that are scattered in almost every episode. So it's no surprise that the season finale featured a big one at the end. But did you catch an amazing throwback to the original Star Wars trilogy? Chapter 8: Redemption actually featured a live-action version of a discontinued toy from A New Hope.

In the final episode of The Mandalorian Season 1, Din Djarin and his companions Cara Dune, Greef Carga, IG-11, and Baby Yoda had to face off against several Stormtroopers as Moff Gideon wanted to get his hands on the Child. Just when you thought there were enough soldiers going after the group, a transporter filled with Stormtroopers arrives at the scene.

There doesn't seem to be anything special about this particular transport but Star Wars fans might remember that it's actually a recreation of the Imperial Troop Transporter by Kenner Products. The toy was created in line with the release of A New Hope.

So what makes this appearance so special? The Imperial Troop Transporter was actually the first toy that was released without appearing in a Star Wars film. Amazingly, it took several decades before the Troop Transporter would finally appear in the Star Wars Universe.

The Imperial Troop Transporter isn't the only awesome Easter Egg in Chapter 8. Fans were also shocked when it was revealed that Gideon actually has a darksaber, a weapon that only Mandalorians use. Needless to say, it's just another reason to look forward to The Mandalorian Season 2.

The final episode of The Mandalorian Season 1 is currently streaming on Disney+.
