Star Wars Rebels introduced new characters who seemed disconnected from the Skywalker saga although the series still featured key elements from the Star Wars Universe. However, it looks like the Ghost crew was initially meant to steal the Death Star plans.
Rebels co-creator Dave Filoni has just revealed that he had considered several ideas before settling on Ezra Bridger and Kanan Jarrus teaming up with a group of rebels. One of the plans he shared with ComicBook.com closely resembled the premise of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Filoni certainly made a right choice with Rebels, which went on to captivate audiences for four amazing seasons. The executive producer stated that part of the show's charm was how Ezra's story somehow mirrored that of Luke Skywalker's.
In the end, Ezra managed to save everyone but not before he went off to defeat Grand Admiral Thrawn. Although his fate is still unclear, the final season of Rebels concluded with hope.
Star Wars Rebels Season 4 is currently available on digital download and Blu-ray.
