Star Wars fans were excited to see Kelly Marie Tran's Rose Tico in The Rise of Skywalker, especially since it is expected that she'll have more screentime compared to The Last Jedi. And while she might have been given a bigger role of rising in ranks from being a mechanic in the Resistance, Episode IX gave her much less than what fans thought.

This article contains potential SPOILERS for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The Rise of Skywalker runs for 142 minutes or 2 hours and 22 minutes. It is evident that Tran had very few scenes in the film. However, the numbers are far more disappointing. According to Slate, Rose Tico appeared for only 1 minute and 16 seconds in the entirety of the film.

The outlet was even "generous" with the timer set for counting her screentime. Aside from the scenes where Rose is actually onscreen, Slate also counted parts where the character is seen in the background, such as her hugging Chewbacca at the Rebel base. Also, the outlet counted the part where her face is seen partially while looking at Poe.

When compared to The Last Jedi, the film ran for 2 hours and 32 minutes, with Rose appearing on-screen for 10 minutes and 53 seconds, which is essentially a very huge difference.

Some of the fans have already voiced their disappointment towards how the movie used Rose. But with the addition of her screentime, Rose's fans aren't happy about it and think that Tran deserved better.

There were so many things that the film could have addressed regarding the character, instead, she was basically just on the sidelines in the majority of the film. It is unfortunate since her backstory was built up in The Last Jedi but wasn't included a lot more in the final chapter.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now showing in theaters.
