Li Jun Li spoke about the possibility of Spider-Noir Season 2 while promoting the show.

While she couldn’t confirm that a new season would be made, she revealed that several cast members already have “contract obligations,” meaning some of them are expected to return if the show is renewed.

“Yes, there are contract obligations for many of us. I honestly don't know anything about Season 2. I wish I knew,” she told The Direct.

The Sinners star added that she loved the show and her role as Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, so much that she would love to return for another season. However, as much as she wants to, she knows the decision ultimately depends on MGM and viewer ratings.

“I love the show so much. I love Cat Hardy so much,” she continued. “I would love for there to be a Season 2, and it really is all dependent on you guys and the viewership.”

MGM has yet to announce whether there will be a Spider-Noir Season 2, but there’s no denying that the show is a huge success with both fans and critics alike, thanks to its fresh take on the web-slinger.

However, if showrunner Oren Uziel and producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller had their way, they would like the series to continue for more seasons.

In fact, if a Season 2 happens, they are considering a time jump in which Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage) experiences events tied to World War II.

If this happens, it could adapt elements from the Spider-Man Noir comic book series, where the first volume is set during the Great Depression, followed by “Eyes Without a Face,” which features a multiversal version of Spider-Man fighting Nazis.

However, when asked about the series’ future, Cage himself said he had no idea if it would get a second season.

“But I would say that whether it happens or not, all of us achieved what we set out to do, and it works on its own,” he told Variety. “We’ll see what happens.”

For Uziel, however, it only takes one knock for the show to continue.

“One of the magical things about any private detective story is, if you want another story, all it takes is another client to knock on that door. Then comes a new set of cases, a new set of problems, and a new adventure to go on. So [it’s] conceived to be as many seasons as we want it to be.”
