Have you seen the new trailer for Morbius? If so, you've probably noticed that Spider-Man makes a surprise cameo in the teaser. Not surprisingly, it already has Marvel fans freaking out.
In the Morbius trailer, there is a brief shot showing Jared Leto's Michael Morbius walking down a street where there appears to be a poster of Spider-Man painted with the words "Murderer."
This shouldn't be much of a surprise considering that Morbius is a Spider-Man villain but the image used in the trailer looks like the Sam Raimi version of the webslinger.

So what does this mean? Is the new film still set in the same universe as Raimi's trilogy? Needless to say, people are very confused.
For now, it's safe to assume that Morbius is set in the present. After all, there's a huge Spider-Man: Homecoming Easter Egg at the end of the trailer.
The synopsis for Morbius reads as follows:
Morbius hits theaters on July 31.
