Norman Osborn is no doubt one of the biggest rivals of Spider-Man, but with the new MCU films, he's nowhere to be seen. What's interesting is, the MCU actually has big plans for the character, and I'm guessing he's going to be the one gathering the Sinister Six come the third Spider-Man movie.
As per insider Daniel Richtman, he posts:
Norman Osborn is gonna be the Lex Luthor/Joker (when in Green Goblin mode) of the MCU. They have big plans for him. He'll be more important to the universe than Spidey. IF Sony will renew their contract with Marvel that is. And I'm pretty sure they will.
Of course, none of this is confirmed yet, but if Osborn were to appear as one of the biggest bads in the Spider-Man franchise, I would expect him to at least be name-dropped in Far from Home this July.
I have to hand it to the MCU. They've managed to fill the Spider-Man movies with villains, without making the film feel too crowded. I guess it's because they know how to establish the main villain with other comic villains clearly put in supporting roles. Homecoming gave us Vulture, Tinkerer, Scorpion, two Shockers, and the Prowler. Besides Mysterio and the Elementals, I'm hoping we get some other unexpected rogues.
For now, you can catch Spider-Man in Avengers: Endgame which is out in theaters. Spider-Man: Far from Home is set to come out July 2.
