Spider-Man: Far From Home Twitter Account Reacts To The Film’s $1 Billion Box Office Win

Spider-Man: Far From Home just reached over $1 billion at the global box office and the movie's Twitter handle has the perfect reaction.

Posting on the social media platform earlier today, Far From Home's Twitter handle responded to the news that the film was the first Spider-Man movie to reach over a billion at the box office, joking about what it felt like when the Homecoming sequel "actually secure(d) the bag."

This is pretty great news for Marvel Studios. Earlier this month, word came out that Marvel's Spider-Man franchise would be in trouble with Sony if Far From Home failed to reach at least a billion at the box office. According to earlier reports, Sony's deal with Marvel required the studio to clear a billion with Far From Home, or else Marvel wouldn't be allowed a third Spider-Man movie. Instead, Sony would take back full control of the Spider-Man franchise.

It might sound a bit crazy for Sony to ask so much knowing that studio's Amazing Spider-Man movies didn't really do so well critically or commercially, but Sony has the rights to Spider-Man's movie rights, so whatever the company says goes.

Marvel fans are lucky enough that Sony decided to team up with Marvel to produce Spider-Man films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe starring Tom Holland. The British actor's Peter Parker has been quite the hit, becoming an easy fan-favorite ever since his introduction in Captain America: Civil War.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is currently screening in cinemas.
