Spider-Man: Far From Home Re-Release Wins Big At Labor Day Weekend Box Office

If you were one of the thousands of people who went out to watch Spider-Man: Far From Home for the third, fourth or fifth time this weekend, you've certainly helped the film's box office standing. Although the movie has already earned a lot on its first theatrical run, it just got another cool $5.4 million.

The report from Box Office Mojo confirms that Far From Home nabbed $4 million over the three-day weekend and is set to get $5.4 million on the four-day weekend. Interestingly, this should help maintain its spot as Sony's highest-grossing movie for a longer time.

This is certainly an awesome achievement considering that Far From Home is the last Marvel Studios-produced film that will feature Spider-Man. Earlier in August, it was confirmed that Sony has decided to take Spidey back after they failed to make an agreement with Disney. Will the re-release help change Sony's mind? Hopefully, we'll get an updated on this really soon.

The re-release of Far From Home is still pretty much the same as its original theatrical cut. However, the new version packs in an additional four minutes of previously unseen footage.

Far From Home isn't the only major winner during the Labor Day Weekend. The Gerard Butler action flick Angel Has Fallen dominated the box office with an impressive $11.5 million draw. It is expected to close the four-day weekend at an awesome $14.4 million.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is currently screening in limited theaters nationwide.
