Singer Lim Young Woong selected Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation as the recipient of his prize money.
Lim Young Woong is one of the rising singers in South Korea. Known as a trot singer, he first scored people’s attention when he won an Excellence Prize at a singing contest in Pocheon after performing Oh Seung Geun’s What’s Wrong With My Age.
From there, his career bloomed even more as a singer, entertainer, and YouTuber.
Most recently, he earned praise for extending his hand to an organization after winning the Nice Trot contest.

Lim Young Woong Donates Whopping Amount to Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation
The Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation announced on Tuesday that the singer donated his 2 million KRW ($1,560) prize money to the organization. He earned the amount from a singing contest, Nice Trot contest.
The program is a competition that supports the philanthropy of celebrities and singers. Viewers can also directly support their desired cause while completing missions in the series.
It revealed that Lim Young Woong made the donation in December. The amount will be used to fund research into childhood cancer and leukemia. It will also assist children suffering from cancer, leukemia, and other related diseases as they receive treatment to improve their health.

“We support the future of Lim, who is helping us spend a warm winter through his good influence,” said the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation said, per Korea JoongAng Daily.
The announcement came after YouTube Korea revealed on Monday that Lim Young Woong’s music video for If We Ever Meet Again was hailed as the most popular Korean music video of 2022.
Lim Young Woong To Perform in Los Angeles
Next month, Lim Young Woong will hold a concert in Los Angeles.
His agency announced in December that the singer would perform at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Feb. 11 and 12. It will be his first overseas tour.
He previously broke a record after becoming the first trot singer to hold a national tour at the Gocheok Sky Dome and Olympic Park Gymnastic Studios.
“I am going to meet my fans in Los Angeles,” he previously hyped fans during a concert. “I’m coming back as an LA boy.”
