It all started when Mark Ruffalo and his Now You See Me co-star Woody Harrelson went out for a drink one night after filming had wrapped for the day.
Who would've known it would end with Ruffalo saving Harrelson from a bar brawl if they hadn't been there together? Here's what happened.
How Did Mark Ruffalo Save Now You See Me Co-Star From a Near-Brawl?

"We were shooting Now You See Me in New Orleans, completely on the streets. Totally wild," Ruffalo told the Where Everybody Knows Your Name podcast (via Entertainment Weekly), "Capturing stuff on a long lens, getting dragged into bars during the middle of a scene, like in the middle of Mardi Gras."
Ruffalo and Harrelson stayed out even after filming wrapped for the day and went to "a packed place" to grab a drink. But that's where things escalated.
A woman came up to his co-star Woody, and told him how much she loved him. Woody thanked the woman politely, but then a guy "comes over and he pushes her outta the way and he shoves Woody. Bad."
Ruffalo continued, "Because Woody's first response is not 'shove someone back', but 'immediately punch them in the face.' Which is the right thing to do, by the way. It's the absolute right thing to do."
But that's not when the story ends.
"But then a whole melee broke out in this bar. I was in the middle of it and it was turning into a— it was getting to become a whole thing... And I grabbed [Woody]," Ruffalo added he grabbed his co-star to pull him out of the chaos, "Because I was like, 'This could be fun, but it also just could go so disastrously wrong, because you and I might be able to handle ourselves, but the rest of the folks we were with... I don't think so."
What's Next for the Now You See Me Franchise?

Don't think the Now You See Me franchise ended with a sequel. The threequel, which is called Now You See Me: Now You Don't, follows the original Horsemen, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco.
While Lizzy Caplan initially replaced Fisher in the sequel, she will also be reprising her role as Lula May in the third film, with Morgan Freeman also set to return.
As per the official synopsis, Now You See Me 3 will "unite with a new generation of illusionists (Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt) for their most global, high-stakes magical adventure yet." Their mission? Expose Veronika Vanderberg's (Rosamund Pike), a "powerful diamond heiress with ties to arms dealers, traffickers and warlords."
Meanwhile, Now You See Me: Now You Don't comes out in theaters on November 14.
