Ryan Gosling Might Be Meeting With Taika Waititi To Join Thor: Love And Thunder

There is little doubt that Thor: Love and Thunder already has an excellent cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Tessa Thompson. But is it possible that another big name will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick? A new report reveals that director Taika Waititi has been meeting with Ryan Gosling. Could this mean that the Blade Runner 2049 star will soon be a part of the MCU?

The report comes from ET Canada which confirms Waititi and Gosling were spotted having lunch in Los Angeles. Although it is unclear whether this was a business meeting, there are speculations that the Jojo Rabbit director is trying to convince the Notebook actor to join Thor 4.

This isn't the first time that Waititi and Gosling were rumored to be planning a collaboration. According to the report, there were previous rumors suggesting that the La La Land actor was in negotiations to join Waititi's Akira movie. Since the live-action adaptation has been delayed, there is a possibility that the What We Do In The Shadows co-director is still hoping to work with Gosling on the Marvel sequel.

Of course, it's important to point out that the two may have simply been having a friendly lunch. For now, we would recommend taking this with a grain of salt.

Thor: Love and Thunder was announced at Marvel Studios' panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 last July. It was confirmed that Portman will reprise her role as Jane Foster and eventually become Thor in the sequel. Thompson's Valkyrie is then set to become the new King of Asgard while Hemsworth is expected to show up as the former God of Thunder and Asgardian King.

Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled for release on November 5, 2021.
