Rhea Seehorn is back! The Better Call Saul star leads Vince Gilligan’s new Apple TV+ series Pluribus, and its trailer promises another hit from the Breaking Bad creator.

Having previously worked together on Better Call Saul, Seehorn and Gilligan reunite for a highly anticipated, genre-bending series that blends elements of comedy, sci-fi, thriller, fantasy, and even horror. So, here’s everything you need to know about Pluribus.

Is There a Pluribus Trailer?

Apple TV+ has officially dropped the trailer for Pluribus, introducing Rhea Seehorn as Carol, dubbed “the most miserable person on Earth.”

“Good morning, Carol,” an operator greets her over the phone. “Is there anything we can do to cheer you up?”

As everyone in town seems determined to lift Carol’s spirits, one woman tells her, “We just want you to be happy.”

Often alone, Carol flies solo as chaos erupts in her hometown after she leaves. While she appears bothered and confused, she can’t help but ask a flight attendant how she could possibly reverse all this.

The trailer then shifts to a group of medical practitioners as the voice of the president promises to figure out what makes Carol different.

“Figure it out? Why?” Carol asks.

“So you could join us,” the president responds.

By the looks of it, it’s Carol versus the world as everyone takes great effort to make her happy. In fact, a shipping company is even willing to give her a hand grenade, a bazooka, and even a tank—just to make her smile.

What is Pluribus About?

Also set in Albuquerque like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Pluribus follows Seehorn’s Carol as she tries to save humanity from happiness.

A best-selling historical romance author who once called her own work “mindless crap,” Carol is on a successful book tour promoting her latest novel when a mysterious phenomenon hits the New Mexico city.

This apocalyptic (or perhaps not?) virus makes the world optimistic and content—completely unlike Carol.

By the looks of it, Carol is immune to whatever this virus is, grounded in reality yet filled with equal parts confusion and rage.

But as everyone tries to ensure she doesn’t feel left out while she searches for answers, Gilligan told Entertainment Weekly, “There’s going to be complications arising from that.”

“The drama of the show is that the world’s most miserable person is desperately trying to save the planet from happiness,” he explained. “There's a surprising amount of drama that we're mining from that.”

Still, he promises “a lot of humor to it,” describing Carol as a “reluctant hero” who feels compelled to save the world.

Who are the Cast of Pluribus?

In addition to Seehorn, Karolina Wydra and Carlos-Manuel Vesga will also star in Pluribus, alongside guest stars Miriam Shor and Samba Schutte.

The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and executive produced by Gilligan, along with Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski, and Jeff Frost.

Pluribus will consist of nine episodes and will make its global debut with a special two-episode premiere on November 7, followed by new episodes every Friday through December 26.
