A lot of relationships have been formed right in front of our eyes on various reality TV shows, and viewers have been wondering about their success and failure rates.

Some people have perceived that relationships won't last in reality TV shows given the mechanics of how they're being produced and the fast turnaround of their romance. However, some still believe that love in reality TV shows could last a lifetime.

Let's explore the success and failure rates of reality TV relationships.

Some of the dating reality TV shows that we know and love always promise that these contestants will find their true love and have an everlasting romance that will make us viewers believe that it's possible to find a lifetime partner.

However, the results are the complete opposite as some of them failed to reach the supposed lifetime span of their romance as they'll break up sometime after filming ends.

According to a report, The Bachelor has a very small percentage of success rate with "only five couples from the Bachelor franchise are still with their final picks" as of 2022, and "with 26 bachelors in total, that makes the success rate less than 4%."

It is a similar case with the hit Netflix series Love is Blind as a report suggested that it has a low success rate when it comes to the longevity of the relationships that were formed.

The report stated: "Overall, four out of 16 engagements (one-fourth) resulted in marriages, and two of those four marriages (one-half) are ending in divorce. In other words, only 12.5 percent of engagements on Love Is Blind have resulted in marriages lasting longer than one year."

Despite the aforementioned failure rates, there is still hope for you to believe in true romance when it comes to reality TV as some shows have bigger success rates.

An example that was cited in a report is the hit long-running series 90 Day Fiance as it has a whopping success rate of 75% and couples who have appeared in the series "fare well above the 50-50 divorce rate.'"

While the series may have some controversial nature, it apparently has better longevity than an average dating reality TV series and should give hope to some viewers about the success of reality TV romance.

In contrast to The Bachelor, The Bachelorette has a fairly better success rate. While the number is not high, it is still solid enough in comparison to the other dating reality competition shows.

According to a report, "The overall success rate for The Bachelorette is, therefore, slightly higher than its male counterpart, clocking in at 22%." In other words, bachelorettes will likely have better luck finding true love than their male counterparts in the other show.

The success rates overall might not be encouraging enough, but it still shows that there is a possibility to find true love in reality TV and they can deliver on the promise somewhat.
