Ranma 1/2 Remake Features Cast Replacements
As much as fans want to hear the voices of all the original cast, the official announcement revealed cast replacements, possibly due to various circumstances left unspecified.
Kenichi Ogata (Myoga in Inuyasha), who previously voiced Ranma’s father, Genma Saotome, will be replacing the late Tadashi Nakamura (Dr. Bigfire in Tetsujin 28) as the narrator.
Voice actor Cho (Regro Burnedead in Mashle) will then voice Genma Saotome, while Akane’s father, Soun Tendo, will be voiced by Akio Otsuka (Yujiro Hanma in Baki Hanma), effectively replacing Ryunosuke Ohbayashi (Yasuo Iwakura in Serial Experiments Lain).
Will There Be Additional Cast Members for the Ranma 1/2 Remake? Our Predictions
The original Ranma 1/2 anime has a rich and character-filled story, which could suggest that additional cast members could be announced for the remake ahead of its October debut.
There’s no word yet on the voice actors for some of the most significant supporting characters in the anime, such as Kuno Tatewaki, Ukyo Kuonji, Happosai, Mousse, and even Kodachi Kuno, so it seems likely that more exciting announcements are on the horizon.
As we await further news, fans can enjoy speculating about the voices that will bring their favorite characters to life once again in the new anime.
