The PS5 announcement was started with a teaser for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and now Sony has decided to give us a look at the box art for the next generation of PlayStation games.
This comes courtesy of PlayStation Blog:
If anything, the cover is just as minimalistic as the one for the first Spider-Man game, having Miles swinging in front of a plain-colored background. I guess the difference is that we get to have Miles using his ‘stinger' ability in the cover; I think the slight fade of his left leg and feet are supposed to showcase his invisibility powers.
With Peter Parker's story not yet over, Miles Morales is confirmed to be a spinoff of the Spider-Man game franchise, much like Lost Legacy for Uncharted. We don't know exactly what to expect from the game, but hopefully Insomniac can find a way to differentiate Miles' story and gameplay enough from Peter's.
While a lot of people loved Spider-Man for the PS4, I kind of thought a lot of the missions had ended up pretty repetitive, and a good chunk of the game are just variations of fetch quests. Hopefully, Miles Morales will tease us with a better variation of the story, enough to get us hyped for Peter's return with the direct sequel of Spider-Man PS4.
No release date has been set for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but we should expect it to hit shelves sometime this holiday season.
