Everyone may be focused on the release of Avengers: Endgame this weekend, but Sony also wants us to be aware that Spider-Man: Far from Home is coming out this July. Besides the return of Peter Parker, we're also going to have a new villain in the form of Mysterio, and Entertainment Weekly gives us a new photo of the two characters supposedly teaming up.
Check it:
While Mysterio is traditionally a villain in the comics, it looks like they're going to be flipping him as one of the heroes in the movie this time around with the "Elementals" being the big bads. Anyone who knows Quentin Beck from the comics though is already convinced that Mysterio is the man behind the Elementals, and he's simply doing the theatrics for the attention—even having SHIELD fooled.
I guess when it comes to this photo, Mysterio becomes more dangerous since he'll be aware of who Spider-Man really is.
Director Jon Watts does have this to say about Mysterio when it comes to the film: "If Tony Stark was sort of the mentor in the previous films, we thought it would be interesting to play Mysterio as almost like the cool uncle."
As for our next look at Spider-Man: Far from Home, it's said that we're going to get it way after the release of Avengers: Endgame, seeing as it contains a lot of spoilers for the film. Having already seen the movie, I guess Endgame does kind of have one big bomb that has to be addressed when it comes to a Spider-Man sequel. I'm actually impressed they managed to gloss over it with the previous trailers.
Catch Spider-Man: Far from Home in theaters July 2.
