Star Wars: Episode IX is expected to be the big finale to the current trilogy that focuses on Finn, Poe Dameron, and Rey. All three characters, along with main antagonist Kylo-Ren, are expected to play huge parts in the movie but it seems like a long-running supporting character will also get some of the spotlight. If Poe Dameron actor Oscar Isaac is correct, it looks like C-3PO will have a more important role in the last movie.
While appearing in The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Isaac revealed that he and C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels were both working their final days. Isaac revealed that Daniels somewhat stole his thunder and talks about how the actor had a lot of fun in the set, which is really nice to hear. Daniels is a veteran after all and it's nice to know that he's having a good time.
The fact that Daniels supposedly stole Isaac's thunder must mean that the droid has a bigger role this time after he was relegated to short, but comedic, parts in the past two movies. What this role could entail is hard to guess, though one can assume that it will be something somewhat substantial. Then again, Poe Dameron hasn't exactly been a showstopper in his moments in both movies either, so we will have to wait and see.
Star Wars: Episode IX comes out on December 20.
