One-Punch Man’s latest chapter was released recently in Japan, and while there’s no official English version yet, it has set the fanbase ablaze. This is because One-Punch Man Chapter 181 finally answered an NSFW Tatsumaki debate among fans that has lasted for over a decade now.
The manga’s latest chapter was released yesterday online for free on Tonari no Young Jump.
In one of the panels, Tatsumaki is shown to be wearing panties, finally confirming that she does indeed wear underwear.
This fact drove lots of discussions online. While some say that this finally answers the age-old question, there are others who aren’t convinced.
Spoiler Warning: There are minor spoilers for One-Punch Man Chapter 181 in this article.
The Long-Running Tatsumaki Debate
While One-Punch Man's Saitama is easily the series’ most popular character, Tatsumaki aka Tornado of Terror is also among the most beloved characters of the series.
Tatsumaki is best known for her impressive power, enough for her to be the S-Class Rank 2 professional hero of the Hero Association. She is also known for her hotheaded and arrogant personality.
Despite her power and brash personality, her petite appearance (despite being 28 years old) makes her quite a funny character.
In fact, the moment when Saitama calls her a “sassy lost child” is a huge meme among fans.
What’s also a major topic of conversation is Tatsumaki’s outfit. The Tornado of Terror wears a form-fitting black dress with high slits, giving the illusion that she doesn’t wear panties.
In the decade that the manga has been serialized, it has never been confirmed if Tatsumaki wears underwear. This has driven lots of cheeky debates among fans online.

One-Punch Man Chapter 181 Finally Answers the Tatsumaki Debate
Now though, with the release of Chapter 181, the manga confirms that Tatsumaki does indeed wear panties, albeit plain white ones.
Specifically, Saitama sees Tatsumaki bounce off a wall, causing her dress to fly upwards and reveal her undies.
While this pretty much confirms that she’s wearing underwear for modesty, it seems not everyone is convinced, as there’s still some debate among fans.
For instance, some fans believe that her underwear was added to cover her up for that specific panel only.
They say that the change in her art style for the panel supports this theory.
While the latest chapter seems to have settled the debate among many fans, the fact that some are still unconvinced means the fanbase will likely have this conversation for years to come.
