It seems like anything can be a movie these days; emojis, lego, dogs, if a company has an idea that can make money, studios will take it. Seems like Warner Bros. subsidiary New Line Cinema are hoping to make money from people who like cute things as New Line has acquired the license to make a Hello Kitty movie.
No joke, a Hello Kitty movie. At least it makes more sense than emojis and memes getting one.
Sanrio founder, President and CEO Shintaro Tsuji had this to say about the movie:
Richard Brener, President and Chief Creative Officer, and Carolyn Blackwood, President and Chief Content Officer, New Line Cinema, said in a joint statement:
As of this writing, no release date for the Hello Kitty movie has been released.
